They met in April 2000 at a golf outing in Perth, Nicklaus D'Cruz, Managing Director of OAAG(S) Pte Ltd and Mark Tjong, Senior Vice President and Co-founder of JustLogin.
"We were staying at the same resort, we know the same people, sat at the same table and started talking about what we can do for each other," said D'Cruz.
Who they are
OAAG (Organisation of Asian Amateur Golfers) is a golf event management company striving to promote the game of golf in Asia by helping to overcome some of the difficulties that prevent golfers from pursuing the sport while providing attractive benefits and privileges for its members. OAAG handle all aspects of golf travel, tournaments and private programmers. It also encourages golfers across the Asia Pacific to expand their golf course circuits.
Before … After
Before JustLogin came into the picture, OAAG only has a static Web page and relied on filers and faxes to get the messages to its members.
For an operation of 18 staff and 5000 members, D'Cruz wanted to be able to provide OAAG members some interactive services without having to write specific software. "We were hoping to give exclusivity to members and allow them to interact with each other, update them on the latest calendar of events and programs available," explained D'Cruz.
Going with JustLogin made all this possible. With a flat fee of less than S$2000 a month for maintenance and support of their database, which includes 40MB of space per member, OAAG gets to utilize other services provided by JustLogin.
These include:
eSurvey: An online application that provides tools for quick and easy survey creation and dissemination.
eDirectory: An online corporate contact book containing all essential contact information of the company's employees.
eNoticeboard: An electronic bulletin board that provides users with a fast, convenient and organized platform to disseminate important company news to everyone.
eMeeting: A virtual private meeting room within the company network.
eMail: A completely web-based email application with POP3 capability.
eForm: All the company forms that a user will need are conveniently stored.
eFolder: A document management application that allows users to organize and share their documents with each other via the Internet in a secure mode.
With an initial set-up fee of S$2000 for customization of the homepage, including mock-up and web design of their login interface, OAAG was able to get online within 10 days. "We had to help them streamline their ACCESS database and the migration of data took the longest, five days to be exact," said Tjong.
With the new system and communicating via email, members are responding much faster and interacting with each other as D'Cruz had wanted. Without having to invest in new software or hardware, OAAG managed to improve the quality of service to its members and look more professional at the same time.
