SINGAPORE -- 15 February 2000 --
JustLogin, a homegrown application
service provider, today announced that their flagship portal, www.justlogin.com, has been nominated as one
of the five grand finalists in the "Killer Application of the Year" category at
this year's Internet World Asia Awards.
The "Killer Application of the
Year" category recognises companies which have developed a software product
serving to advance, capitalise on, enable or promote the use of the Internet. JustLogin was chosen from a
list of more than 500 nominations from public and corporate Internet users
across Asia, and shortlisted to be among the 60 finalists in 12 award
categories. The "Killer Application" category pits JustLogin with four other new portal
sites from the region, including Hong Kong, China and India.
The nomination marks
a great achievement to JustLogin as the portal has received
recognition even before it goes live. Said Kwa Kim Chiong, CEO, JustLogin, "We are extremely delighted
to be named as one of the top five killer applications of the year, even before
launching it to the general public. We firmly believe that the Internet is
indeed a huge resource that everyone should tap into and it is gratifying to see
that our belief is supported by this nomination. It is a great boost for a new
start up like ours and it reaffirms the key value that our applications can
bring into organisations, which would enable them to work smarter and achieve
higher levels of efficiency."
JustLogin offers
applications-on-tap that make it easier for businesses and organisations to
conduct surveys, manage its human resources and personnel appointments,
allocate office resources, schedule employee tasks, carry out Internet meetings,
post announcements, communicate, share information and more, at anytime and from
anywhere in the world. Users need only to register at the portal, and carry out
some minor configurations. Within minutes, an organisation is wired to
experience the freedom of a speedy "paperless" office administrative system
without any geographical and time constraints.
The Internet World
Industry Awards honour the best companies and professionals in the Internet
industry. Every year, voter submissions and a panel of judges consisting of the
industry's leading journalists, analysts and academicians determine the Internet
companies, their technologies and people who have earned the highest respect of
their peers for their contribution to the progress of innovation and excellence
in the industry. Year 2000 marks the first time that the Awards are in Asia.
JustLogin aims to
constantly upgrade and improve the portal, introducing new applications and
e-services, such as shared documents and time charging, e-commerce and WAP
connectivity, in the near future. Such regular enhancements to the portal would
allow one to tap on new technology updates and increase office productivity to a
greater extent without incuring further costs.
