SINGAPORE -- 23 February 2000 --
JustLogin, a local application service
provider, today officially announced the launch and availability of a
comprehensive suite of office collaborative applications at their portal, http://www.justlogin.com/. These
services are offered to the global business community. Singapore will
be the launch pad for this service, after which a Chinese version will be rolled
out to Hong Kong for a North Asian user base in the second quarter.
The
applications-on-tap offered by JustLogin makes it easier for businesses
and organisations to conduct surveys, manage its human resources,
allocate office resources, carry out real-time online meetings, post
announcements, communicate, share information and more. Users need only to
register at the portal, and carry out some minor configurations. Within minutes,
an organisation is wired to experience the freedom of office administration, at
anytime and from anywhere in the world.
"The Internet has become a huge
resource akin to an oil well that smart companies should take advantage of.
JustLogin aims to be the tap to this electronic oil well, turning a typical
working environment into a high-tech office within minutes. The increase in
productivity and convenience you will experience comes without the entry costs
or risks that you would expect from implementing an intranet site, said Kwa Kim
Chiong, CEO of JustLogin.
JustLogin was
founded by 12 technopreneurs, spinning off from Singapore Engineering Software
Pte Ltd (SES). Each individual has a financial interest in the company. SES, a
member of Singapore Technologies Electronics, has a minority stake in the
company.
"Our aim is to add value and provide an impetus for change to
better business practices. With the right people, we can be proactive and react
quickly to the developments in the Internet world. Spinning off from SES would
allow us to move swiftly, and I am glad that SES gave us the blessings to create
JustLogin, commented Kwa.
To date, the portal has 10,000 registered
users, some of which are large organisations. The 5,000 employees in Singapore
General Hospital is one of the growing number of users.
"SGH is
always looking for innovative ways to be more efficient in our operations.
There are a lot of opportunities for saving time and expenses through standardising
work processes. A solution like JustLogin leverages on the power of the
Internet and addresses the needs of an efficient office management to support a
dynamic healthcare organisation," said Chong Kian Teck, HR Administrator,
Singapore General Hospital.
Future plans for the portal include the
addition of e-services like shared documents and time charging, e-commerce and
WAP connectivity.
