JustLogin Creates an e-Bizcommunity for 4000 Local Businesses

Members of the Singapore Chinese Chamber of Commerce & Industry to Utilize JustLogin for Better "Networking" and Business Opportunities; Choice between English or Mandarin Versions

SINGAPORE -- 3 May 2000 -- JustLogin, a local application service provider, today announced the creation of an e-Bizcommunity for the Singapore Chinese Chamber of Commerce & Industry (SCCCI). Within the next two months, JustLogin will bring 4000 members of SCCCI, made up of local Chinese-owned businesses, together into a virtual community for better information sharing, networking and business opportunities.

Using JustLogin's business groupware portal at www.justlogin.com, all SCCCI members now have an avenue for communicating between one another and the Chamber over the Internet. Some of the services provided are a members' directory, email messaging, electronic surveys, chat rooms to serve as discussion forums for idea and business exchanges, and bulletin boards for the Chamber's announcements*.

justLogin will also help create new business opportunities between SCCCI members. JustLogin will capture all of the products and services offered by members and place the information in a directory. Members can then easily do a search for any of the product or service they require, and get in touch immediately with the potential business partner. This feature will also be accessible to the public, increasing business opportunities further.

All member companies will also receive a free individual company account for internal groupware applications that will help them increase office productivity and improve office administration, such as document management, online leave application and electronic forms. Each employee within each member company would have free access to a personalised 5MB email service.

New members who join SCCCI will be introduced to the e-bizcommunity immediately and have an individual company accounts created for them. Regular sessions will be conducted by JustLogin and SCCCI to demonstrate the services to members.

Tay Beng Chuan, President of SCCCI, said: "Technology is crucial as we move into the knowledge-based economy and we are keen to promote the use of technology among our members. JustLogin has provided the best tool for us to keep in touch with our members and amongst themselves. Best of all, an e-commerce platform has been created for our members and this is done quickly without much entry risks nor large IT investments. We hope that with the utilisation of JustLogin in our daily activities, members can help support one another, communicate better and improve their productivity."

Chief Executive Officer of JustLogin, Kwa Kim Chiong, commented: "Leveraging the power of the Internet to improve work processes is one way that businesses and organisations can stay competitive and relevant in the new economy. SCCCI is taking a positive and active role to influence change in which people do things. We are proud to be part of this endeavour to build an eCulture in the workplace."

"One of the objectives of IDA is to accelerate the adoption of an online culture and help establish environments where e-communities will thrive. We thus applaud this initiative from SCCCI and JustLogin. It shows that there are organisations and businesses working together and taking the ownership of promoting a more productive way to work using the Internet. Such collaborations will help usher Singapore into the e-economy," said Ms Yong Ying -I, CEO of Infocomm Development Authority Of Singapore.

Platform for Venture into North Asia

Today's announcement is timed together with the launch of a Chinese version of JustLogin. The Chinese portal is a mirror site of the English version.

"We felt that the benefits of JustLogin can be enjoyed by more if we launch the Chinese version. With the Chinese version, we aim to help new users overcome the apprehensions of bringing their office processes online by allowing them to use our applications in a language that they feel comfortable with," said Kwa.

The Chinese version also marks the start of JustLogin's venture into the North Asian market. Kwa commented: "North Asia is key in our expansion strategy and will be the first market we will venture into outside of the English-speaking region of Asia. The exponential growth of Internet users in Hong Kong, Taiwan and China and the potential for e-commerce cannot be overlooked."

According to reports from IDC, the number of Internet users in Hong Kong is estimated to grow to 3 million by 2003, in Taiwan to 4.4 million by 2003. According to the China Internet Network Foundation Centre, China currently has more than 4 million users, and is expected to become the largest Internet market in Asia by 2001. Internet commerce in Hong Kong is estimated to grow to US$ 2.3 billion, in Taiwan to US$ 2.8 billion and in China to US$ 4 billion by 2003.

Details for the founding of justLogin's offices in North Asia will be announced in the near future. Plans include the opening of a representative office in Hong Kong, Taiwan and Shanghai.
